Thank you for taking the time to visit my
website, my name is Matthew Vanderpool, and I am running for the Kentucky House of Representatives in
House
District 45 (Lexington, KY).
Speaking with some of you
thus far in the campaign I have been struck at how hungry we are for a
different kind of politics. The decisions that have been
made in Frankfort over the past few years and the problems that have
been ignored completely have put our Commonwealth and the citizens of
Lexington in an awkward position.
Today, lawmakers in Frankfort seem incapable of working together in a
practical, commonsense way. Too often partisan politics and political
alliances prevent legislation from being passed that is in the best
interest of the people. Bitter, partisan politics is however only part of the problem.
Money,
power, and greed have contributed to the problems we currently face.
Lawmakers are unwilling to tackle the big problems that
demand solutions. To repair this we have to come together in all
of our communities, find our common interests, and voice our concerns.
We have to create a Kentucky that is not just ready for today, but a
Kentucky that is ready to be passed down to the future generations of
tomorrow.
These solutions cannot happen without you, the great people around our
communities that know that there is a better way and who are willing to
work for it.
There is no limit to what we can accomplish
when we work together. The dream we all share is still
within reach. Yes, it may be faded a bit on the horizon, but
together we will get there.
That’s
why I need you to stand with me so that we
can get Kentucky back in the hands of the people.
